About

"it happened" is an oral history project recording stories of the impact of COVID-19 in performance artists' lives. Through 4 interviewees, Chung explores fragile bodies, disposal of art and art makers, and the future of performance through a time-based visual medium.

With her layered, collaged, and sporadic usage of oral history, photography, historical sources, and moving portraits of herself, Chung alludes to a digital aesthetic specific to the lockdown and isolation, yet connection through digital mediums.
